Pooh and more Pooh

As I have mentioned previously, Adelynn LOVES Pooh--absolutely loves him. If she is asking for something (other than an apple), it typically has something to do with Pooh. Here is a little look at how many of our conversations go throughout the day:
When she wants to read one of her four Pooh books:
"Pooh ook? Pooh ook pease? Ook?"
When she wants to hold her stuffed animal:
" Pooh, Pooh pease? POOH!"
When she wants to watch her Pooh DVD, which we currently can't find:
" Pooh on? Pooh on pease? No Pooh off."
The latest is that Pooh sometimes eats dinner with us. Last night, when Adelynn was done eating dinner, she got back in her chair, with Pooh this time, and she fed him green beans. So cute. Pooh also got Cheerios on the way to church on Sunday.

Adelynn walked into the bathroom this morning with shoes on and holding Pooh. She was very excited to wear Mommy's shoes. She is also wearing her special pjs that we got because of Daddy's work. They are little scrub/doctor pjs. Another new thing that Adelynn does is say "Daddy hearts" (or, "Daddy hauwts") when I tell her Mike is at work.

Blurry again, but I asked Adelynn to show me Pooh so I could take a picture. This is what I got. She was so excited.

Adelynn plopped herself down on the kitchen floor Sunday morning to read what else but one of her Pooh books. It was so cute, and she looked like such a big girl. She also is wearing a dress that had Pooh and Piglet on it :). She loves reading and is starting to "read" books to us now.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Adelynn made this nice Thanksgiving vest at Mrs. Paula's house today. It's a little blurry, but these days, we'll take a nice smile picture with her looking at the camera. She made a special point to stop and say cheese for this one because her favorite stuffed animal Pooh was "taking the picture" with Mommy's phone. I think I'm on to something...

Never gets old

I was cruising on Facebook for a bit tonight. I took a long break from FB but then I realized that a lot people post pretty big information on there that I should probably know--babies, new jobs, etc, so I have been going on every so often to catch up on things. Well, on there, I saw Mike's profile picture, and it just makes me so happy, so I thought I would post this here.

I just can't get enough of the Daddy and Adelynn pictures. We have hundreds of these type of pictures--literally. I can't believe how big Adelynn looks in this picture. She is getting so big. We can't believe it.

I absolutely LOVE this picture. How blessed am I to have these two in my life?

This seriously seems like it was just yesterday--still how she sleeps, though. Butt in the air, arms tucked underneath her. Boy, where does the time go?

Go Tigers!

Adelynn is decked out in her Tigers stuff.

Prom

Adelynn was able to grab a picture with her beautiful Aunt Dena before she headed off to prom. Check out the dress--Dena designed it :).

I just posted some pictures, but they are terribly out of order. It's pretty easy to figure out when they took place.

On a side note, we have been hearing a lot of "Pooh...Pooh...Pooh." Who would have known that the Pooh books I bought at Kohls would have been such a huge success :).

Beach babe

Adelynn loved the beach in Clearwater.

Homosassa Springs

On Spring Break, we visited one of Mike's favorite childhood spots, Homosassa Springs. He used to come here when he visited Grandpa and Grandma Brown, who lived just down the road.

Catching up

Here is a picture from back in March. We were headed to a water polo game. She has a lot more teeth and quite a bit more hair now.

Life's little memories

It seems that every day Adelynn packs it full of new memories for us. Tonight was no different. There are those days that you just know you are going to remember and our hearts are just filled with love and happiness. I know this is sounding cheesy, but that is truly how we feel.

Adelynn loves to dance and twirl (in large part thanks to music time at Miss Paula's house). So, we turned on our radio in the kitchen and I tried to find some good dance music for her. Our usual station, 99.3, was on a commercial break, so I went one station past to 100.5. As the station came in, Christmas music flooded through the kitchen. How I could have forgotten that Christmas music starts on November 1, I don't know--I have been thinking about this all of October. BUT, Adelynn LOVED it. She is her mommy's Christmas-loving girl, I guess. So, we spent the next twenty minutes--the three of us--dancing to Christmas music in the kitchen. Adelynn stood on Mike's feet and danced, and then she grabbed on to our hands and twirled, and then she stood on my feet and we danced, and then we twirled, and then she went under our legs and would dance some more. I just tried to take one mental picture after another.

After our mini dance marathon, Adelynn took a bath. Again, we had more of those great memories. Adelynn loves the water and loves baths. She had so much fun splashing and floating and kicking and all that fun stuff you can do in water. It was just so fun to see.

We're back!!

As Aunt Lynn shared with me the other day, "you are bad with a cell phone and bad at blogging." For those who try to get a hold of me, you will often get my voicemail because my phone is not charged or my phone is lost. I often check voicemail and have several voicemail that span over a couple of weeks. Not good. Well, this inspired me to pick up my game with the blogging. We'll see how it goes.

Lots has happened with our little Adelynn Jo over these last several months. She is just so much fun. It seems like every day she is picking up more and more. It's scary how much she is soaking in. Our latest (and sometimes greatest) with Little Punky is that we are entering into the world of the potty. Who knew going potty would be so exciting. We hear "potty, potty, potty" and Adelynn tears off to the bathroom. She's doing pretty good with it--even better because she initiated this all on her own.

Adelynn next favorite thing is Brady, my parents' dog. We hear "Bray-ee" a lot, as she is often asking about him. Last night she got to give Bray-ee a bath because Mom was at parent-teacher conferences and Dad was at work. Now, when you ask her what Brady says it's not ruff anymore, it's "oooo, oooo, ooooo." OK, imagine a 20 month old "howling." Needless to say, Brady doesn't like baths. Adelynn doesn't know that, though, she was just told that Brady was singing in the shower :).

Now that I am committed to being a better blogger, more stories to come. My plan is to add a few pictures every few days, so they will be out of order, but I will add captions.

We spent a ton of time outside at the pool this summer. She couldn't get enough of the water. By the end of the summer, she was loving gliding under water, trying to reach and pull to the ladder, kicking and splashing, jumping off the side, going off the slide, and playing "whack a mole" with Daddy's head. We were amazed how much she loved going under the water and would say please (index finger into palm).

Chilling with Daddy in our AMAZING $6 inflatable chair from Meijer. This was quite a feat to get Adelynn in a float. She wanted nothing to do with them until the end of the summer. The more she was in the water, the better.

We went on our fourth annual boat vacation (thanks Mom and Dad Brown for use of the boat again!). This time we went to Ludington. This was one of our only nice afternoons--it rained like crazy. We were still able to head to the park between the rain storms, hit the marina pool and go for a few dingy rides. It was awesome. Sorry South Haven, but I think we have found a new boat vacation spot.

12 months of Adelynn Jo

Today is Adelynn's first birthday. It's hard to believe that it has been one year already. We spent today reminiscing about what was happening a year ago and about the year we have had. It has been amazing. We were blessed with a great delivery and those blessings have continued each and every day. God is so good, and we are so thankful for this beautiful gift He has given us. Adelynn brings more joy to our lives than we ever could have imagined, and we are excited to keep watching her grow and develop. Here are pictures of Adelynn taken every 24th, from February to February. It's crazy to see how much she has grown.

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas almost two months late! A lot has happened since our last post (which Aunt Lynn told me was two months and two days ago). I guess this is very overdue. A lot has happened in the life of Adelynn Jo.
Some highlights:
*The first steps came on December 2. I had a snow day, so I was home to see them. What a gift that was!! Since that point, she is more and more confident, and now, she walks all the time, everywhere. It's amazing how fast she can move and get around. Just tonight, she has discovered that she can climb on top of and balance on two of her toys. If our little monkey keeps it up, I will try to grab some pictures. It's really quite amazing that she can climb on top of her little zebra and stand on it when she can't even sit on it and have her feet touch the floor.
*Adelynn has 6 teeth now. She got her bottom two first, then she got the two teeth to the side of her front teeth. We called them her little fangs. Ironically enough, these teeth popped through right when the new Twilight movie came out, so she must have been a vampire fan. We also could joke that all she wanted for Christmas was her two front teeth. In the last couple of weeks, those have popped through, too. We think two more will be coming soon.
*We are now getting hugs and kisses on a regular basis, especially when she first wakes up in the morning. This definitely warms our hearts and is something we look forward to every morning.
*We are starting to get a few sounds that a sounding a lot like words. A few that we hear often: Boo, Ha, and Uh-oh. The uh-oh is awfully cute. We heard it for the first time when after she dropped her spoon on the floor. We then conveniently dropped things on the floor periodically and she said it every time.
*Adelynn LOVES books and her baby doll. She can't get enough of her books. She will sit and look at them for hours (well, maybe not hours, but a long time). We have had to take away several books, though, because she not only likes to look at them, but she also enjoys eating them. We have several board books that are missing corners now. Our little beaver also did a number to her crib. Those six teeth are sharp :). She also got a baby doll from my cousin's family. She loves her baby, who doesn't have a name yet--suggestions welcome, and she gives her baby hugs and kisses and hauls it all over with her.
*Adelynn is starting to dance and move to music she hears. The jury is still out whether she will have her mom or dad's dance skills. We are both hoping she has Daddy's skills.
I know there is more that I am forgetting, but as I am putting up these two months worth of pictures, I will add more.

We find it hard to believe that we are quickly approaching her first birthday. Today a year ago was my first day of bedrest and the first day I was home on my "maternity" leave. It seems like it was just yesterday, and we are blown away with how fast this time has gone and how much Adelynn has changed, grown and developed. We are truly blessed.

I got a bit long-winded. Here are Christmas pictures. They are out of order, so I will label them. I will post more soon.

The Dornbos family Christmas party--lots of fun exchanging white elephant gifts.

Great Grandma Dornbos using an old Navajo soothing trick on Adelynn--putty in her hands.

Getting ready to take off walking in another Christmas outfit :).

Another picture of the outfit. This time you get to see the socks. I started her on her Christmas sock collection early.

Adelynn and Oma

A little crawling machine. We don't see much crawling these days.

Another Christmas day picture. This time we are at the Brown's.

Too cute--working on those teeth.

Happy girl in her cute first Christmas pjs

Another Christmas morning pic. We got a smile this time.

I think Adelynn got a little spoiled this Christmas.

Loving the bows and the presents.

A Christmas card picture finalist

Bright and early Christmas morning before we left for my parents' house. Yay for self timers.

The Visser clan (minus a few who we missed A LOT) on Christmas Eve.
t
Christmas eve right before bed. She is 10 months old here. She didn't get to enjoy much of Christmas Eve--Mommy's favorite night of the whole year--because she had to go to bed, but she could still say hi to everyone.

Adelynn loves her food but doesn't like getting her face cleaned off.

Another Christmas outfit. Laughing at Grandpa while they were hanging out with Grandma Pastor.

Adelynn loves Brady as demonstrated here by her chasing him through the kitchen.

Adelynn loved our Christmas tree, especially the lights.

Grandma helped us make her famous Christmas cookies. I think we made about 7 or 8 different kinds and over 500 cookies. Nothing compared to what Grandma used to do, but it still took us the whole day. It was so nice to spend that time with Grandma.

Adelynn was very uninterested in Santa Clause. She was more interested in the other kids in line. Better than crying, though!

Visiting Santa Clause. All the other big kids were standing here and getting their pictures taken, so Adelynn decided she should, too.

In line to meet the big guy.

Another cute shirt from Mrs. Paula.

If you didn't know this about me, I am a little sentimental. Here are all three of our first Christmas ornaments. Mine on the left, Adelynn's in the middle and Mike's on the right. You can also see our first Christmas together ornaments.

Adelynn loved to play (or eat) with her Little People nativity set from Oma.

Brady, why are you outside?

Our little elf in her cute Christmas outfit from Mrs. Paula.

Daddy and Adelynn by the Christmas tree.
